Hernando Cortes- a Spaniard that landed on the
shores of Mexico.
· Conquistadors- name given to Spaniards that followed Cortes, Cortes himself carved out Mexico, South America, and United States because they heard of vast riches in those lands.
· Spanish were the first European settlers in the Americas.
· Cortes, and 600 men landed in Mexico, they set out to find the rich Aztec Empire.
· Conquistadors gained riches from The Aztec people, conquistadors came and brought diseases the Aztecs weren’t used to, so many died.
